Luxury, Club and Butler Elite — what actually changes between them, and which one is worth the jump.
There are three: Luxury, Club Level and Butler Elite. Luxury is the entry tier, Club adds room service and a concierge, and Butler Elite adds a personally trained butler on call.
The names attached to individual rooms get long and confusing — “Caribbean Poolside Grande Luxe Walkout with Patio Tranquility Soaking Tub” is a real room name — but every one of them sits in one of those three tiers. Once you know the tier, you know the service level.
Crucially, the tier does not change what is included on the resort. Every guest eats at every restaurant, drinks at every bar, and uses every watersport regardless of room.
Room service, arrival experience, in-room bar contents, and whether you get a butler. That is essentially the whole list.
| Luxury | Club Level | Butler Elite | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Room service | Not included | 7 AM – 10 PM | 24 hours |
| In-room bar | Juice, soda, water, wine, local beer | Adds a selection of liquors | Adds premium liquors and sparkling wine |
| Check-in | At the main desk | Private, at the Club Sandals Lounge | In your suite, escorted by your butler |
| Dedicated staff | — | Club Sandals Concierge | Personal butler, reachable by phone |
| Lounge access | — | Club lounge, 8 AM – 10 PM, snacks and coffee | Included |
| Service on the beach | — | — | Butler brings food and drinks to you |
| Views and location | Good, often garden or partial view | Generally better positioned | The best positions on the property |
If you plan to be out of the room all day, Luxury gives you the identical resort experience for the lowest price. If the room is part of the holiday, Club is the sensible middle. Butler earns its price on milestone trips, not on every trip.
Book Luxury if you are the kind of traveller who is on the beach at nine and back at midnight. You are paying for a bed, and the bed is excellent.
Book Club if you want breakfast on the balcony without getting dressed, or you would rather have someone else book the dinner reservations and the excursion. The concierge is the real value here, more than the room itself.
Book Butler if this is a honeymoon, an anniversary that matters, or a first trip you want to be unambiguously special. A butler who brings lunch to your sunlounger and remembers your drink is a genuinely different holiday — but it is a want, not a need.
It depends entirely on whether you will use it. Couples who treat the butler as a concierge and let them run the week get real value; couples who feel awkward asking for things pay a premium for a phone they never use.
The honest test is whether you are comfortable delegating. If asking someone to bring you a drink on the beach would make you self-conscious, the upgrade money is better spent on a longer stay or a better resort.
Some butler suites also include private airport transfers, which is worth checking on the specific room before you compare prices.
Overwater accommodation is Butler Elite and carries the largest premium in the entire Sandals portfolio. Only a few resorts have them.
They are the most photographed rooms Sandals has, and priced accordingly. If an overwater villa is the trip you are dreaming about, it narrows your resort choice considerably — the resort guides cover which properties offer them.
Room names are deliberately hard to compare across resorts. Seeing them side by side with live rates usually settles it quickly.
