Which one has the better beach?
Dunn's River, by most accounts. Ochi's beach is perfectly good but smaller relative to the size of the resort, and the hillside section is a shuttle ride away from it.
This is the single most common complaint about Ochi and worth understanding before you book. The resort is split between a beach side and a hillside garden side. If you book a hillside room and your idea of a holiday is walking to the sand in thirty seconds, you will be taking a shuttle several times a day.
Dunn's River has no such split. Everything is walkable.
Which one has better food?
Ochi has more choice — 16 venues against 12 — but Dunn's River generally reviews better on execution. More restaurants is not the same as better dinners.
If variety over a week matters to you, Ochi is hard to beat anywhere in the Sandals portfolio. If you would rather have fewer options done consistently well, Dunn's River is the safer bet.
